I cannot possibly express my outrage at "His Dopiness"(RL) and the rest of the cast of characters who have seen fit to attack Sonia Sotomayor in the most denigrating terms. I believe she has served at least two decades as a judge/appellate court judge...with no particular outcry over her decisions (with due note to the BIG one about the fire fighters which seems to have taken on a life of its own. Perhaps reading the entire decision would change minds.) However, we are a society that takes words out of context--as they serve our purpose--and the "masses" tend to follow their "demi-gods". However, it was most gratifying to hear Rush and friends backtrack a bit from their outlandish comments.
Right now I'm concerned about our Prez coming home safely. He takes brave steps. God be with him.

This is one of your best. Your reference to the Children's Hour is brilliant! I still get sick to my stomach when I think about that situation. You have done a superb job expressing my feelings about the entire motley crew that call themselves Republicans. I still cannot figure out why Rove is not in jail. The media attention given the likes of Newt and Ann and Glen etc is sickening. The commentators NEVER call tem on their "facts". I am now reading more mind candy novels for peace of mind. You are terrific!

Very informative.

I think "faded" is a poor adjective to use in the place you have used it. I think "still relevant" Broadway play is the implication, for why else did you title this piece with the title of Hellman's play from 1934?

I think this automatic opposition by the RNCs is a stupid strategy! They already have all the solid "far right" in their pocket. To further alienate women and the Latino vote makes no sense.

Instead, they should enthusiastically endorse this nominee and save their fight for the next nominee which may happen soon. They would then be indicating less politicising of the process, and might have a chance to make their point.

I understand your belief that such a move would be too obvious. But, I think you give the electorate too much credit.
